Let me introduce myself …
My name is Luciano Zamora, and I am a graphic designer living in beautiful San Francisco, CA. I graduated from California State University - Fresno, in June 2011, with a BFA degree in Graphic Design. Since I was a child I have enjoyed drawing, painting and building things such as puzzles and stacking blocks; all of which became fundamental interests that lead me to pursuing a career in graphic design.
As a well-seasoned graphic designer, with 12+ years experience in the field and a diverse employment history, I am confident in my skills and creative mind. I have worked for a newspaper, an online/email marketing company, a design agency, a data software company, and most recently a B2B communications manufacturer; all of which have allowed me to continue to expand my knowledge of print vs. web, while flourishing my creativity and perfecting my design skills.
My creative approach—no matter the medium—is to find points of tension behind the idea I’ve been assigned or am interested in. I do several iterations on each point and usually end up refining the one I find most appealing and direct. Sometimes the outcome can be loud and obvious; and sometimes it can be much more subtle and powerful depending on the desired target market.
For me, creativity isn’t about what is right or wrong, because creativity can be interpreted in many different ways by different people, considering their stories, where they come from and how they see things. Creativity is a way to plant a little bit of passion in their mind; a yearning to turn the page and learn more about your idea or way of seeing the world. Ultimately, it’s about creating memorable images and ideas.
